Research

For my research I used several different media technologies in order to complete the tasks necessary. Firstly for my trailer analysis, I used YouTube to locate and watch a range of post-modern film trailers. YouTube was a simple way of finding these videos quickly. I was also able to discover the official trailers for the specific films, and not ones made by audiences. I could re-watch them as many times as I wanted, making the analysis of them easy and effective. In order to present these analyses I used PowerPoint. I created three separate powerpoints and used a slide per film. This way I could add specific pictures around the outside of the text, and use colour themes to highlight the important words or phrases. PowerPoint also allowed me to link each YouTube video, meaning that they could be referred back to. In order to find a list of post-modern films that I could choose to analyse, I used Web 2.0. This allowed me to search 'Post-modern films' on Google which made my searching of trailers easier and quicker.

When completing my research, I wanted to present it in an effective and creative way, therefore I used Prezi. This allowed me to choose my own layout with different designs and colours. I could add images and text in different formats and be imaginative with the presentation. I used Prezi to show my research for Music, Titles, Garageband and After Effects . Each of these were illustrated in distinct ways, using different templates and backgrounds which were specific to the theme or subject.

In order to receive feedback and research on trailers, I used forms on Office 365 to create surveys that I could present to my audience. This allowed me to make improvements to my product through advice given from my audience, which would therefore be effective. I also used social media accounts, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to gain opinions worldwide.
